Meet the Architects

Join us for a Town Hall on Wednesday, May 24 at 7 pm. The event will be in person and online. Everyone is encouraged to come!

Members of the architectural team from Hastings and Chivetta Architects will be coming to Tulsa to discuss the plans for our church’s expansion and renovations.

The next step after this meeting is for them to put pens to paper to generate the conceptual designs.

This is a chance to meet the team, to hear them describe to us what they understand we are hoping for and envisioning and to ask questions and give final input.

Please try to make time to be with us for this important and exciting session.

Background

During the first year of the COVID-19 Pandemic, in the fall of 2020, the congregation met in its first ever online Congregational Meeting. The major question on the agenda was the downtown property and the plans to move our church.

The church had not held services in the building since March of 2020, and predictions were that it could be more than a year before it would be safe to do so again. Like many businesses and non-profits, All Souls had found ways to do administration, worship, classes, pastoral care and more over computers and cell phones.

We began to question if a new facility was going to meet the needs of an unknown future. Along with these questions was the reality that A Gathering Place had opened, five short blocks away from our current location, and was drawing people of all backgrounds and areas of Tulsa to come into our neighborhood.

In one of the highest attended congregational meetings in the history of the church, the congregation voted unanimously to give back the gift of the downtown property and stay in Maple Ridge. In the midst of the global pandemic, we were far apart from one another in space, but we were together in purpose. We had no debt and we had money in the bank and one of the most attractive locations in the city. More importantly, we were united.
