On September 14, the All Souls community came together for our annual Love & Light Gala, and it was a night to remember. This year’s theme, “Courageous Love,” inspired attendees to express their unique style and make bold fashion statements in their courageous attire, and there were plenty of courageous statements made. From bold colors to daring accessories and creative twists that reflected personal journeys, everyone truly embraced their “courageous attire.” It was a delight to see how everyone interpreted the theme in their own way.
Selling The Shoes Off Your Feet
Gala committee chair, Jeni Ellis Halliday, took this year’s theme to heart early, sending in pictures of her shoes that “could stop a freight train!” And during the live auction her shoes made another splash when she took them directly off her feet and announced she was auctioning them off to the highest bidder! After a competitive and friendly bidding war, the shoes found a new home with Rick Gardner who said it was “so much fun.”
Putting The Gala Together
Behind the scenes there were plenty of dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. Phil Brubaker and Hunter Jameson, our stewardship and membership manager and assistant, both deserve special shoutouts for their commitment to making the gala a success. Additionally, Jeni Ellis Halliday deserves special recognition for her dedication. Not only did they put together an incredible night for everyone at Discovery Lab, our All Souls Everywhere members got to participate in a livestream that included an online program and the ability to watch and participate in the live auction. We can’t thank them enough for making this night so incredible!

In addition to being a fun evening, we are thrilled to announce that we successfully reached our fundraising goal! This accomplishment would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our community, so thank you all.
