Why do you support All Souls? Members share their stories.

As we near the end of 2018, All Souls looks back on a year filled with love beyond belief, and on our commitment to each other. This fall, members of our congregation shared what this church, and our diverse community, means to them. As you consider year-end giving, we’re asking each of you to search within your heart for what All Souls means to you. We hope you support All Souls by making your gift for 2018, and completing you pledge of support for 2019.  With your help, All Souls will continue to be a leading moral and religious voice in the 21st century.

“We give to All Souls because our community of faith recognizes and celebrates the inherent worth and dignity of all—including our transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming friends and people perceived as somewhere between on the gender binary.”

—Justice Waidner-Smith, with husband Aiden Waidner-Smith, delivered Sunday, October 28, 2018

“All of our wonderful minsters, we are lucky to have. They take a chance to stand up for people of color. When we have incidents of injustice, they stand up. When we had incidents of police brutality, they provided a safe place for us to come and discuss our feelings. And, as an African-American woman who has been through hell by the hands of white men— I stand here and say, I love, from the bottom of my heart, All Souls. Because the ministers, and you, the members, have made me feel so welcome. I have never felt that in any place that is predominately white.”

—Floretta (Flo) Reed, delivered Sunday, October 14, 2018

“All Souls rolls up its collective sleeves and goes to work tackling tough issues. I support this church because its a place where we are willing to listen to each other, even when what is being said is difficult to hear. I support All Souls because it gives our children honest, factual information so they can make their own decisions regarding their own bodies. I support this church because All Souls stands a a beacon of freedom for all people, and that isn’t free.”

—Stacey Craig, delivered on Sunday, September 30, 2018

Below you will find information on how you can support All Souls this year. Our Executive Director of Stewardship, Alison Olig, and our stewardship and accounting staff, are happy to assist you with year-end giving. Please contact Alison at aolig@allsoulschurch.org or 918-743-2805 ext. 201.

  • Your gift must be postmarked by December 31, or, if hand delivered, received at the church by December 31 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Gifts by credit card over the phone must also be received at the church by December 31 at 4:00 p.m. To make a gift by phone, please call Jennifer Briggs at 918.743.2805 ext. 313. Jennifer will be in the office December 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

To gift Stocks/bonds/mutual funds:

Gifts of stock can be arranged with our stewardship department by calling Alison Olig at 918-743-2805 ext. 201 or emailing aolig@allsoulschurch.org. Please make arrangements with your broker in advance in order to guarantee receipt of your gift by year-end.

To utilize your IRA:

If you 70 ½ or older and have a traditional IRA, consider making your year-end gift with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The distribution can count toward your required minimum distribution – but, because it’s not actually distributed to you, this won’t increase your adjusted gross income.

To qualify as a QCD, the gift must be transferred directly from your IRA to All Souls. If you are interested in making a gift to All Souls through a QCD, please contact your IRA administrator or dmanson@allsoulschurch.org for more information. Please make arrangements with your IRA administrator in advance in order to guarantee receipt of your gift by year-end.

Thank you for making All Souls possible!

Please consult your tax adviser before making any major decisions that may have an impact on your tax liability.
